Q: Why can't I order hot stamped stamped or sublimated badges online?
A: We first need to see artwork to determine if it meets our requirements for making such name
badges. Please email us your request and a digital copy of your logo. We will then be able to
tell what type of badge your digital file can be used to produce.
Q: What digital file types can you accept?
A: We can accept BITMAP art in the form of .jpg, .gif, .tig or .bmp files. We can accept VECTOR
art in the form of .eps, .ai, or .cdr files. We do not accept Microsoft Publisher or Word files as
art files. We always prefer vector art, if it is possible to provide it.
Q: What do you mean by 'good quality art' for my logo?
A: 'Good quality art' should appear just as you want the final image to appear. If you are
submitting a digital file, it should be 600 dpi or above. If it is a color image, the file should
contain all color information. If it is a black-and-white image, the digital art should be black-
and-white. The quality of the file you send us will predict the quality of the image we can
make. We can edit most files. Please contact a customer service representative for more
information.
Q: How do I prepare my artwork to be submitted?
A: Please convert all fonts (type) to outlines or curves where possible. This guards against
jagged edges and pixellation. All artwork should be sent with the information needed to
open that file. If you use a specific font, please send the font files if you cannot convert
them to curves. Unfortunately, we cannot use photocopies, business cards, faxes, letter-
head or other printed products for camera-ready artwork. We can quote most jobs
using this artwork, but will not be able to use it for production purposes.
Q: Is there a set-up charge with each order?
A: Engraved badges have no set-up fee if there is no logo.* For dye-sub or sublimated badges,
there is a one-time set-up fee of $112.50. This covers the time and materials cost involved
in color-management & badge set-up. Hot stamped badges also have a one-time set-up
fee:
1 Color: $47.59
2 Color: $112.68
3 Color: $164.72
* Please contact a customer service representative for more information.
Q: When will my order ship?
A: Engraved badges will ship in 2 production days. More time may be needed to fill larger orders.
Hot stamped badges take 9 production days for the original order, and 2 production days
for re-orders. Sublimation badges are 8-9 production days for the initial order, and 2
production days for re-orders.
Q: Can I get a proof?
A: Yes. Our minimum proof fee is $9.00. Exceptions may be made for extenuating circumstances.
It is our mission to provide you with the highest quality product, made to your standards. We
take time up-front to ask the right questions and we triple-check orders--so you can feel
comfortable ordering your badges without requesting a proof. Of course, we stand behind our
work, too.
Q: Do my badges come with a warranty or guarantee?
A: We do not offer a warranty or guarantee for our badges, because we guarantee 100%
satisfaction. If there is a problem, we will work with you to provide the best solution possible.
We absolutely stand behind our work and we hold ourselves to the highest standards of
customer service.
Q: Is it possible to receive a sample badge before I place my order, to be sure it meets my
expectations?
A: Please talk to one of our customer service representatives. Once we know what kind of badge
you are interested in, we can send you a non-production sample.
Q: How long will you keep specifications for my badge on file?
A: We keep active files for hot stamped badges for 3 years. We keep active files for other methods
of production indefinitely. Our archiving system speeds up your ordering process, and ensures
that badges you order today will look the same as badges that are ordered tomorrow or years
from now.
Q: If I lose the removable part of my magnetic fastener, can I get a replacement?
A: Yes, we do carry extra fasteners. We charge $2.12 each plus shipping for replacements.
Q: Is it worth the extra expense to use a magnetic fastener?
A: Pin fasteners are inexpensive, but poking holes in your shirt, blouse or jacket can result in a
much bigger expense over time. More and more professionals are requesting magnetic
fasteners to save wear and tear on their clothing.
Q: Do you offer discounts or lower prices on large badge orders?
A: Yes. Orders over $200 qualify for discounts. One of our customer service representatives will
be happy to give you our best price and a special quote on large orders.
Q: What is a Pantone® color?
A: The Pantone® Color Matching System (individual colors are referred to as PMS colors) is a
proprietary, largely standardized color matching system used thorughout the world in many
different industries. Each color has a unique number. To approximate a Pantone® color in
your logo, we need the Pantone® number. Due to variability in badge materials and enamels,
an exact match for your Pantone® color might not be possible.
Q: Where is the best place to attach my badge?
A: Because we greet one another by shaking right hands, the best place to wear your badge
badge is shoulder level on the right side.
